|Peppermint Candy Bark (print these instructions)
What you Need to Make Peppermint Candy Bark:
Preparation: Place the peppermint candy into a Ziploc bag, seal it and use the hammer (or rolling pin) to smash the candy into big chunks or small pieces.
Place the parchment paper onto the cookie sheet.
Melt the chocolate in the microwave for 90 seconds—remove and stir the chocolate every 30 seconds to avoid scorching. (You may have to adjust the time depending on the power of your microwave.) Use the oven mitts when taking the bowl out of the microwave.
Once the chocolate is melted, add food coloring.
Pour the melted chocolate onto the parchment paper. Use a spatula to spread the chocolate, and add the peppermint candy pieces to the chocolate.
Place the mixture into the refrigerator for 45 minutes or until firm. Remove from the cookie sheet and break into pieces.
